Asbury First has a strong reputation for excellence in its music program. Those who join the church often report that they were drawn to our church through the effectiveness and variety of its music and arts ministry. Asbury First’s music program offers many new and continuing opportunities which are open to participants of all ability levels alike.

Our annual concert series Music at Asbury First this year, promises to be an exciting one! This series celebrates the many varied sacred expressions in the arts. Highlights have included performances by our own church ensembles; world-reknowned organists Gerre Hancock and Frederick Swann; the French boy’s choir “Les Petits Chanteurs d’Aix en Provence; Rochester Chamber Choir MADRIGALIA, the Pan Loco Steel Drum Ensemble and the Harmonic Brass from Munich.

Youth music and drama opportunities continue to expand. In addition to our regular singing Jubilate and Joyful Noise bell choir, each year our 7-12 graders present a fully staged theatre piece. Productions have included Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Stephen Schwartz’s Godspell, Rock Nativity, and Philemon. Proceeds from these events help fund youth ministries.

Music is indeed a fair and glorious gift of God and continues to be a vital expression of our faith here at Asbury First. We invite you to actively participate in any of our ensembles and encourage you to attend any or all concerts and services.
